Mountain Bike Ride - Saturday 13th Feb - 1pm Depart
from Burger King
This
event Sat 2/13/10 requires a bike suitable for the
mountain - fat tires
- but no suspension required. You will need a helmet
& gloves - you can't ride with the troop without
them!! Bring Water & a snack too

Superstition Mountains Peralta Car Camp & HIgh Ropes
Course Feb 20/21
This
event is a Sat/Sun car camp Feb 20-21st with a day
hike on the Peralta trail to a Weavers Needle
overlook. That night we'll have a patrol chili
cook-off and hopefully a troop camp fire. On Sunday
we have a High Ropes course & Strategic Games event
before we return home. There is a $25 program fee
for the
event.

Quartz
Peak
Day
Hike Sat Feb 27th
This
event is an all day hike Sat Feb 27th to the top of
Quartz Peak in the Sierra Estrella's. Sit on
the white quartz at the very peak for great views
over Ahwatukee and look right over South Mountain to
downtown Phoenix beyond...

WEBELOS night on South
Mountain re-scheduled for Tues Feb 16th
This meeting
runs from 6:30pm - ~8:00pm at the
Warpaint
Trailhead (<Map) on South Mountain Park.
We will
hike in the dark on South Mountain, there will
be Scouting related activities along the trail.
Parents your WEBELOS will be grouped with
Troop278 Scouts for this event. You may
accompany them on their hike or stay and talk
with some of Troop 278's adult leaders. At the
end of the evening we will have Hot (warm)
Chocolate and Apple & Cherry/Peach Cobbler -
cooked by our Scouts! Don't forget to bring warm
clothes, water & your flashlight.
Directions: from Corpus Christi Church go west
on Knox, turn right on Warpaint and park near
the top of the hill. We will be set up just
across the bridge over the wash.

March 8th - 7pm

Eagle Court Of Honor will be at
Mountain Park
Community Church,
(<Map) on the corner
of Pecos Rd and 24th Street (enter from 24th
St). Full class A+ Uniform please - and
bring your good stories about Riley!
Looking for a Den Chief for Cub Pack 278
Looking for a
Scout - 1st class or higher - to act as
Den
Chief
for Pack 278 Webelos2 dens.
This is a
chance to help recruit more new Scouts next year.
Attend den meetings and introduce Webelos to Boy
Scouting - help them with
Cub
Scout skills and events. This leadership role
counts for Star-Eagle requirements.
