Demonstrate the Scout Sign, Salute and Handshake

Learn that when a Scout leader makes the Scout Sign you should immediately stop what you are doing - stay still - be quiet - and also make the Scout sign yourself. If you see other Scout Troop members make the Scout sign - pay attention, this is the way Scout leaders get attention and calm the Troop down.

You must be able to demonstrate tying the Square Knot (Reef Knot)

Describe The Scout Badge and the meanings of its components

Complete the Pamphlet exercise "Protect Your Children From Child Abuse - A Parents Guide" with your parent/guardian - this can be found inside the Boy Scout Handbook (BSH) front cover.

Finally participate in a Scoutmaster Conference to demonstrate & discuss all the above items
and get your
Membership Application approved and your Scout Rank signed off.

Once this is done you can wear the Scout uniform with the Scout rank insignia and attend Troop events as a member.

All the other requirements above are listed with more details in the Scout Handbook available at Scout Shops (see the links page).
