Assistant Webmaster - Job Description:

As part of the approval to create the Troop Website the Troop Committee also approved the creation of a new Troop youth leadership position " Assistant Webmaster"

This role is a chance for 1-2 Scouts at a time to work with the Troop Webmaster to create, update & maintain content for the Troop Website.

Supports the Webmaster to keep the Troop website up-to-date, interesting and useful

Duties:

- Updates information off-line & submits ready for inclusion into the website

- Works with adults and Scouts in Troop leadership roles to gather information

- Collates information such as contact details, photographs, documents

- Proof reads proposed and current Troop Website content & highlights problems

- Performs routine maintenance operations on the Troop website under webmaster supervision

- Tests out web technologies and demonstrates how we could use them effectively

Requirements:

- Candidates must have basic knowledge of Internet, website, email & applications

- Candidates must have access to a computer equipped appropriately (home/school)

- Candidates must have email access (via their parents email accounts is OK)

- Candidates must commit to developing at least 3 web pages (or equiv) during their 6 month elected period.

- Parental support, guidance & supervision is useful (and encouraged)     in this role
