Scouts into the BOR sessions

Develop
a team of parents approved by the Committee to serve on BORs

Sign-ups
sufficient parental support for Troop BOR sessions depending on needs

Develop
BOR materials such as checklists, guidelines and required materials

Hold an
annual introductory training session to prepare parents to serve on the BOR

Set
expectations for BOR length by rank & requirements (e.g. uniform)

Make a prompt report on the
correct form to the council service center when a Troop BOR is
held and Scouts have meet the advancement criteria

Inform
the Advancement Coordinator of all Troop advancement activities for records
updates
-
Conduct
necessary follow-up with Scouts if they fail or conditionally pass BOR
-
Plan
appropriate encouragement/support for Scout who are stalled in their
advancement
-
Report on results and
also on Scout
feedback to Troop committee

In absence of a Board
Of Review Coordinator the duties of this role are the responsibility of the
Advancement Coordinator. Since the Advancement Coordinator still bears the
ultimate responsibility for these duties they will provide
oversight/guidance for the Board of Review Coordinator.
Holder of this Officer Role cannot concurrently hold any other Troop
Committee Officer Role (except Charter Organization Representative) also
cannot hold a concurrent role as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster
