Outdoor Activities Coordinator

Job Description Outline:

Duties:

  •  Work with adult & Scout activity leaders to facilitate trip planning
  •  Facilitate advance Troop communications on activities (standard templates etc) & sign ups
  •  Help secure tour permits for all Troop activities & help in securing campsite permissions
  •  Maintain a registered Troop driver's list to support transportation logistics
  •  Ensure a monthly outdoor program
  •  With the Scoutmaster - help to facilitate the annual outdoor event planning session
  •  Promote the National Camping Award
  •  Promote, through family meetings, attendance at Troop campouts, camporees & summer camps
  •  Report out to the Troop committee as needed

In absence of this role (unstaffed) The scoutmaster & ASMs assume the responsibility for most of these duties and will usually assign them out across individuals as needed.

Holder of this Officer Role cannot concurrently hold any other Troop Committee Officer Role (except Charter Organization Representative) also cannot hold a concurrent role as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster
