Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) - Job Description: The top youth leader in the Troop, he leads the Patrol Leader's Council and in consultation with the Scoutmaster appoints the other youth leaders and assigns specific responsibilities as needed. The senior patrol leader is elected by the Troop usually for a 6 month term. NB In Troop elections for this role - first preference is given to Scouts at Star Rank and above. Duties: - Runs All Troop Meetings and Troop Activities - Runs the Patrol Leaders Council - Sets A Good Example to other Scouts - Assigns Duties/Roles to other Junior Leaders Note - at major events like summer camps - if the SPL & ASPL are not attending a temporary SPL will be selected/elected to lead the Troop for just that activity. The ASPL is appointed - usually at the same time as the SPL election: Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL) - Job Description: NB In Troop election/selections for this role - first preference is given to Scouts at Star Rank and above. The ASPL stands in for the SPL in his absence (see SPL role above). Unique Duties:
